How to enable Password Protection on the Browser Extension?

In this article, you will find a step-by-step guide on how to lock your browser extension settings.

How to activate:

1. Right-click the BlockSite toolbar icon

2. Click 'Options'  

3. Click ‘Password Protection’ in the left sidebar or go directly to this page 

4. Select the options you wish to enable (see below for details)

5. Enter the email and password you wish to use and click 'Save'

6. Verify your email: You will receive a verification email. Open it in the same browser to complete the setup.

Understanding the Options:

• Protect your BlockSite options: You must enter the password to open the settings menu or the extension itself.

• Require password to access blocked sites: Instead of just blocking the page, you can access it by entering the password.

• Blocked page challenge: Adds an extra step (like typing a word backwards) before unlocking a site.

• Get notified via email on uninstall: You receive an alert if the extension is removed.

How to update your Email or Password:

1. Go to the Password Protection settings

2. Click 'Update Email and Password'

3. Enter the new credentials and click 'Save'

4. Verify the new email via the link sent to you
   
   Note regarding Safari: The Password Protection feature is not yet available for the BlockSite Safari extension. We are working on bringing this functionality to Safari in future updates.
