BlockSite not blocking apps - iOS
In this article, you will find a troubleshooting guide to help you resolve issues where apps or websites are not being blocked correctly on your iOS device. Please follow the steps below in order.
Step 1: Check the VPN Connection
Sometimes resetting the VPN connection can resolve blocking issues.
Launch Settings from your Home screen
Tap General
Tap VPN & Device Management (or just VPN)
Under VPN Configurations, ensure that BlockSite is selected
Toggle the Status switch OFF and then back ON
Step 2: Check your Group Status
Ensure that the specific block list is actually active.
Open the BlockSite app
Locate the Group containing the apps you want to block
Make sure the toggle switch next to the Group name is turned ON
Step 3: Verify Screen Time Permissions
BlockSite requires Screen Time permissions to block apps effectively. You can verify this by attempting to create a new block.
Open the BlockSite app and click the "Block Something" or "Add item" button
Select "Block by App Usage"
If your permissions are not enabled, a pop-up will appear asking you to enable them. Follow the prompts to allow access.
If no pop-up appears, your permissions are likely set correctly.
